When converting to the latest version of Revit you want to upgrade all your library and template files as well. Don’t forget that you can batch – upgrade your Revit 2013 files to Revit 2014 when migrating to the new version of software. You can do it in a couple of different ways. The first way is to use Revit File Upgrader add-in. This method is in my opinion the easiest and the most convenient one. You need to download the Revit File Upgrader add-in from Autodesk Exchange App Store – it is Free. Run the installation, restart Revit and fire up the Revit File Upgrader from the Add-ins tab.
Revit File Upgrader 2014
1. Download and Install Revit File Upgrader 2014
|You can download it for free from Autodesk App Exchange Store. All you need is an Autodesk account. Once the file is downloaded run the installation.|
2. Prepare folders for the upgrade and open Revit
|Before you do the actual upgrade create folders where your upgraded files are going to go. Then open Revit and start a new file. Go to Add-Ins tab and run Revit File Upgrader.|
3. Run the tool and specify destination folders
Another way to upgrade the Revit files is to use Content Batch Upgrade utility.
You would have to dig into Revit Utilities folder and look for instructions there. Here is the detailed description on how to use this tool from CADShack.
